Dunedin sits on the Gulf Coast of northern Pinellas County, in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area. Clearwater borders the city to the south and east, unincorporated Palm Harbor lies to the north, and St. Joseph Sound and the Gulf of Mexico are to the west. Alternate US 19 (Edgewater Drive and Broadway) runs along the waterfront, and the Dunedin Causeway on Curlew Road leads to Honeymoon Island State Park. Tampa is across Old Tampa Bay by way of the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Dunedin was settled in 1850, named by Scottish merchants in 1882 after the Gaelic name for Edinburgh, and incorporated in 1899. Its Scottish roots still show in street names, the annual Dunedin Highland Games and the pipe bands at Dunedin High School and Dunedin Highland Middle School. Downtown along Main Street is known for local shops, restaurants, live music and craft breweries, and the Pinellas Trail runs right through it.

Before you buy, check the flood zone, elevation certificate, insurance costs and any past flood claims for the specific property, and ask us which neighborhoods sit on higher ground.
